Description

French JIF WATERMAN mechanical pencil. Between 1921 and 1926, Jules Isidore Fagard a former sales representative for the brand and founder of the office supply company JiF (named after his initials) acquired a Waterman license for France, initially for importation and later for manufacturing. Already the owner of a factory on the Quai de Javel in Paris, he launched a new ink production line in Issy-les-Moulineaux. By this time, JiF already had subsidiaries across Europe. These French-made Waterman pens were sold under the JiF-Waterman brand. The mechanical pencil offered here is nickel-plated and features "JIF" marked on the clip; it measures 115 mm in length. It is in perfect working order, shows little to no signs of use, and is in very good overall condition suitable for a collection or for writing. It comes in its original presentation box, complete with the instruction leaflet and a case of 1.2 mm leads.
